Master of Public 政府
There is a minimum of 36 credit hours required for a grant of the masters degree in public administration. The 36-hour minimum includes 21 credit-hours of core courses; 12 credit-hours of electives; and the three credit-hour capstone course, PA 697. 学生 with no significant experience in public or non-profit administration or management will take three credit-hour internships designed to provide administrative experience. The internship course is in addition to the 36 credit-hour minimum. All students must take and pass the seven core courses described elsewhere; the three-hour capstone course; and at least twelve hours of electives. 选修课 are chosen under the direction of the student advisor. Elective courses may be taken from public administration courses, political science courses, or other courses within the university. All electives must be designated 500 level courses or above.
CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCED STUDY OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION/CERTIFICATE IN PUBLIC PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
The Public 政府 程序 of the Department of 政治科学 offers two certificates of graduate study: a certificate of advanced study in public administration, and a certificate of advanced study in public personnel administration. The certificates are meant to introduce graduate study in public administration to students who may be contemplating enrollment in the M.P.A. 程序, or to meet the needs of mid-career managers who may not need the volume of advanced course work offered through the M.P.A. Because course work for both programs is entirely web-supported, enrollment from Indiana, from throughout the United States, and across the globe is encouraged. 学生 may apply for either program through the College of 研究生 and Professional Studies. Applicants must offer proof of a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science and an acceptable grade point average from an accredited college or university. Applicants may be admitted conditionally on the basis of a graduate school application and unofficial transcripts, but each student must supply the College of 研究生 and Professional Studies with an official transcript of all academic work before the program will extend unconditional admission. 国际 applicants should also have a TOEFL score of at least 600 (paper) or 213 (computer) or 70 (iBT) or better on the Test of 英语 as a Foreign Language, or provide equivalent evidence of language proficiency.
